Frozen Light Theatre - Paid Training and Performance
Who is it for? Artists interested in developing sensory, immersive and accessible work
Location: London / Kent
What’s happening?
Frozen Light specialise in creating multi-sensory touring theatre for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs; and they are seeking performers to take part in a week of paid training with them in preparation for their next project: “Night Out In Nature.”
Artists who take part in the training will then be given the opportunity to perform in the show as part of a rotating cast to help bring the installation to life on tour.
The fee is £120 per day for both each day of the training (£600 total for the week) and also each day of touring. Accommodation and meals will also be provided during the residency week.

Box of Tricks - Associate Artist Call Out
Who is it for? Offstage Artists based in the North with minimum 3-5 years experience
Location: Manchester
What’s happening?
Box of Tricks is on the look out for three new associate artists - a lighting designer, a sound designer and a movement director to join them in a year-long attachment as they explore how to champion offstage talent.
Each associate will be embedded within the company and given agency to establish their own creative journey and support the company’s professional development programme. They will have the opportunity to develop specific aspects of their own creative practice as well as explore the needs of the wider creative community of offstage artists across the North.
This attachment is designed to work alongside other creative commitments, so each Associate will be paid a fee of £2000 for the year-long attachment (envisaged as around 15-20 days’ work across the year).

The Space R&D Digital Support
Who is it for? Arts and cultural organisations based in England
Location: England (Online)
What’s happening?
The Space has opened a new round of commissioning for England-based cultural organisations to apply for up to £9000 in digital R&D commissions to develop a creative digital project for online audiences. This can be a video or audio project, or an interactive or immersive online experience.
Successful applicants will also receive support from The Space in areas such as digital production, content distribution, audience development and online rights.
Successful applicants will be notified by 17th September 2021 and each of the 20 commissioned projects should be able to be published by the end of March 2022.
Another round of commissioning will also be launched in early 2022 for projects to be published in December of that year.

The Core at Corby Cube - Paid VR Project
Who is it for? Actors interested in VR
Location: Corby
What’s happening?
The Core at Corby Cube are hosting a digital festival in Autumn 2021 and are currently casting for 4 performers to take part in a virtual reality project: “Thinking 360”. 5 x ten minute plays that will be filmed in 360 degrees and experienced by audiences through VR.
Performers may need to appear in 2 or more of the plays. They are looking for performers that fit the following castings:
Male 30’s/40’s
Male 20’s/30’s
Female 20’s/30’s
Female 70’s
Performers will have a rolling rota during the filming period from the 14th to the 23rd June with no more than 5 full days of in person working required across that period for a fee of £550 including expenses.

Artist wanted for Dropped Tea Theatre
Who is it for? Artist with lived experience of Camberwell and Peckham
Location: Peckham, London
What’s happening?
Dropped Tea Theatre are looking for an artist who has lived experience of Peckham and Camberwell. The artist can practice any discipline and no experience in the arts is necessary. You just need to have something to say about the area. The outcome of the project will take place on the 11th and 12th September. The full time commitment is expected to be around 5 days, and there is a £500 fee for this. To apply you need to send a snippet of your work and a paragraph about your relationship to the area. Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme
Who is it for? Emerging Theatre Directors
Location: Leicester, Derby, Newcastle
What’s happening?
The RTYDS is pairing up early career directors with theatre venues for paid 18-month residencies as resident assistant directors. This is a major opportunity to build connections and develop your skills. Each residency differs depending on the venue. The venues on offer this year are:
The Curve in Leicester
Derby Theatre
Live and Northern Stage partnership in Newcastle
There are 4 positions available and one position will go to a Deaf or disabled director. There is no age limit on who can apply but you should have over 18 months of professional experience and be in the early stages of your career. At the moment the programme is accepting expressions of interest, from which 100 will be invited to write a full application which they will be paid for.
