Applecart Arts Artist Residency

  • Two residencies available at Applecart from January 2021

  • Free use of a studio space for creatives with 24 hour access and lockable facilities

  • Available from 4th - 31st January

  • Culminating in a performance, in-progress presentation, or virtual exhibition to be presented on Applecart’s online platforms.

  • Open to creatives from all disciplines in the arts industry, be that theatre, music, dance or visual art, and they encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, especially those under represented and those in their local community.

  • However, both studio spaces are on the second floor and not currently wheelchair accessible.

  • Fill in a google form to apply by 5.00pm on the 20th December

Sprint Festival 2021 - Camden People's Theatre

  • Sprint Festival is looking for submissions which will run April 6th to the 24th 2021

  • They want new work they have never seen before. Especially interested in work from new artists, or people who have never performed at the Camden People’s Theatre.

  • They cite themselves as a space that showcases “new and unusual work”

  • This could be site specific work, digital work, work that can operate in an intimate space

  • They don’t want new writing, revivals, dance or academic projects

  • They will offer support in marketing as well as a £200 guarantee performance against a 60:40 box office split.

  • They will also provide training in PR and marketing skills as well as discounted tickets to other shows in the festival

  • Deadline is Monday 28th December

Siobhan Davies Dance - Next Choreography

  • A six-session online course for 18-25 year olds keen to learn about choreography.

  • Weekly sessions, each led by different facilitators, in which participants will explore different choreographic processes used by a group of artists making work across multiple disciplines.

  • Dance or movement training is not required, they are looking for artists with a broad range of backgrounds, experiences and artistic interests. Most importantly, the choreographically curious.

  • They have an inclusive and adaptive approach to online learning, and sessions can be made more accessible through transcriptions, captioning or BSL at participants request.

  • When selecting participants, priority will be given to those who do not currently have access to online learning opportunities in choreography.

  • To apply, fill out the application form on the website and send it to nancy@siobhandavies.com by Thursday 14th January at 5pm. They also accept applications in audio form.

  • The course will take place from 4th February - 25th March, including an introductory session and a one week break on 4th March.

  • Weekly sessions will take place on Thursdays, 6pm - 8.30pm.

In Good Company - Assistant Director Call-out

  • In Good Company looking for an Assistant Director during a two week workshop process on a new play as part of 2021’s Take Off Prize

  • Looking for Midlands based applicants who has ability to travel to both Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton and Nottingham Playhouse

  • First workshop week - Arena Theatre Wolverhampton 4th-8th January

  • Second week - Nottingham Playhouse March 2021 TBC

  • Fee of £1000 for 10 days work inclusive of travel and accommodation costs.

  • The play (This year’s Take Off prize winner) - Oh For Fucks Sake (I’m In Love With You) by Samson Hawkins

  • About two people falling in love in a world that doesn't want you to. Set in post-apocalyptic Kettering in a post-gender, post-sexuality and post-race world.

  • Particularly keen to hear from neurodiverse or learning-disabled theatre makers, deaf of disabled people, African Diaspora people, South East and South East Asian people, people from ethnically diverse and/or lower socio-economic backgrounds, or who have caring responsibilities.

  • Send a CV and short cover letter (300 words) or a voice recording or video (3 minutes) with details of your theatre making experience and why you want to work on this project to

  • Interviews held on zoom Tuesday 22nd December.

Ulita Casting Call

  • Ulitia are seeking two actor-singers for an R&D to develop the lead roles for their upcoming production 'Sister'

  • It’s a week long, and time will be spent discussing themes, improvising scenes and exploring characters. So an interest in improvisation / devising is key

  • Any one of any age, gender or ethnicity is able to apply

  • Taking place 8th - 13th Feb 2021

  • At Snape Maltings

  • £700 a week plus accommodation and expenses

  • This is a two act musically driven show about a sibling relationship between a brother and sister who are on opposite sides of the world. Set against the backdrop of his anxiety disorder, her compulsion for storytelling, and the shadows of their shared memories.

  • Deadline is 5pm on December 16th
