Job Role: Stage Manager
Fable Workshop is looking for a Stage Manager to support two weeks of Research and Development for a new play called DOSAGE. The play is being supported by Theatre Deli and has received Arts Council England funding. The production has been explored previously and so will be working to develop from the feedback of previous sharing and scratch productions.
DOSAGE is a semi-autobiographical piece which explores mental health surrounding the side effects of the contraceptive pill. The production is looking to raise awareness about conversations surrounding contraception. The aim of the production is too create a socially conscious tour which visits theatre venues, schools, and other community organisations.
The Stage Manager will be there to support the room, manage call sheets, prepare a book for the production, and liaise with technical departments to develop the production. We will also have specialists visit during rehearsals who they will also support when they are in the space. The R&D will culminate in a sharing at Theatre Deli, which the Stage Manager will be expected to call.
The production uses projection and live music. The music is performed through song, live looping, and effects that are performed live by the Sound Designer.
The sharing will be presented to venues and programmers with the aims of putting a tour together for 2022.
